Health Care and Supplies

Hundreds of Triple-S volunteers participated in multiple community outreach initiatives, offering medical care and supplies to isolated communities in 24 municipalities across the island and senior homes and assisted living facilities. They also offered medical services in five Emergency Stop and Go centers, offering basic medical services to patients that were unable to access their doctors after Hurricane Maria.

Innovative Wellness Program

In support of the American Cancer Society’s initiative, Triple-S implemented an Innovative Wellness Program to Achieve Prevention Goals in the Workplace. Its goal is to achieve that 80% of employees get screened for colorectal cancer in 2018. This is the first cause of death from cancer in Puerto Rico. The program is adaptable to other companies and to different prevention goals.

Triple-S Kids’ Club

Club de Niños Valiosos was one of the first initiatives that Triple-S established to support its employees after hurricane Maria, offering child care for more than 300 children aged 5 to 12 years, while their schools and day care centers remained closed.

Helping our Neighbors

After hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, a group of Triple-S employees, including doctors, social workers and health educators, visited the residents at Borinquen Towers complex to offer clinical and social assistance, as well as water and non-perishable food items.

Helping our Most Vulnerable Patients with Fresenius and the National Guard

Following the hurricane’s impact, we focused on the needs of the most vulnerable patients, those on ventilators, oxygen and dialysis. In collaboration with our partner Fresenius, the largest operator of dialysis centers in Puerto Rico and worldwide, and with the support of the National Guard, we were able to contact the totality of our 1,000 dialysis patients and ensure their access to life-saving care.

CAP 2017

For the eighth consecutive year, our people have shown their solidarity with the children who benefit from the great work of Fundación CAP. We are proud to support the valuable work of this non-profit organization that helps fund facilities, technology and treatment for pediatric cancer patients in Puerto Rico.

CAP 2016

Fundación CAP is one of our people’s favorite causes. This year, in addition to a record breaking participation in the Uniendo Cabezas event —29 coworkers shaved their heads—they also managed to raise $12,000 for cancer patients at the Children’s Hospital. That’s solidarity!

Hogar Niñito Jesús

Forty-five of our committed volunteers showed up at Hogar Niñito Jesús as part of the Give a Day event. During the activity, the group painted almost the entire facility to make it cozier.

In addition to the painting and maintenance work, each subsidiary took on the task of raising funds to purchase sheet sets and other essentials. A computer, printer, file, blackboard, chair and school supplies for the children were also donated.

The home, founded in 1991, provides shelter for abused children.

Triple-S Golf Tournament Raises $112,500 for Nine Institutions

This year the Triple-S Golf Tournament raised $112,500 that were distributed among nine nonprofit organizations that serve the children and youth population. Some of the entities that received the donations were: Instituto Santa Ana, Hogar de Niñas de Cupey, Hidroaalfa, Caribbean 12 Step Foundation, Casa de Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos, Fundación Hogar Niñito Jesús, Hogares Rafaela Ybarra, Hospital del Niño y Make-A-Wish.

CAP 2015

Taking part in Uniendo Cabezas has become a tradition for Grupo Triple-S employees. Our brave volunteers step up to the plate and show their solidarity by shaving their heads for this worthy cause, thereby helping kids at the Children’s Hospital. Some of them have accepted the challenge several years in a row. All the money raised is for the benefit of pediatric cancer patients and is used to purchase medical equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of the condition.
